Hull KR prop George King 'living the dream' after Hull KR exit confirmed

Prop George King admits that leaving Hull KR is “bittersweet” – but the forward is excited to take the next step in his career away from Craven Park.

The 26-year-old forward is expected to sign a two-year contract with Warrington Wolves after two years with the Robins.

King started 48 of Rovers’ 50 games since joining the club ahead of the 2021 campaign and represented Scotland at the World Cup last autumn.

King's time at Hull KR

The former Leigh Centurions prop, who was born in Wigan, joined KR ahead of the 2021 campaign and immediately established himself as a key member of the pack.

King has played 48 times for the Robins, scoring four tries during his two years at the club.

He has been linked with a move to Warrington Wolves for several months and it was confirmed on Wednesday that he will leave Craven Park at the end of the season.

King grateful for his time at Hull KR

King leaves Hull KR with the club sat eighth in the Super League table, three points off the play-off places.

The prop has been a popular figure with the Rovers faithful and he has thanked the club for the support he has received during his time in East Yorkshire.

"I want to thank Hull KR for everything," King told the club’s website. "It’s been an incredible journey and I’ve loved every minute of it.

King excited to take the next step in his career

King is now excited for a fresh challenge with the Wolves.

The forward admits it was a tough decision to leave Hull KR, but he believes the move to the Halliwell Jones Stadium will help him develop as a player.

"It was a difficult decision to leave Hull KR, but I feel like it’s the right time for me to take the next step in my career," King added.
