Ten Hag names team to take on Barnsley

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has named his team to take on Barnsley in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils will be looking to continue their preparations for the new season with a victory against the Championship side.

Ten Hag has made several changes to the team that started in the 4-0 win over Liverpool on Tuesday. David de Gea starts in goal, with a back four of Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. Scott McTominay and Fred start in central midfield, with Bruno Fernandes playing ahead of them. Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford start in attack.

Barnsley will be looking to cause an upset against Manchester United. The Tykes finished 21st in the Championship last season, but they have a good record against Premier League opposition in pre-season. They beat Burnley 2-0 in 2021 and held Newcastle United to a 1-1 draw in 2020.
